I recently shared on my Tiktok and Instagram how I load up a new project – especially one that will take a lot of yarn and time like the Crochet Granny Square Cardigan I’m currently working on.

I’ve had what I refer to as my “go bag” for a long time. There are several manufacturers but this is the one I have

When I purchased mine, they didn’t have green or pink available or I may have chosen one of those but the purple has done me just fine. I don’t just take this bag on road trips with me though, I actually use it to load up projects to take into the den or living room with me because it keeps everything tidy and I can easily tuck it away behind a chair if someone pops by for a visit. I load it up with the same basic supplies each time:

Sometimes, though rarely, I do include my reading light that I like to use for crochet but I’ve found I’m fairly lazy about charging that so skipping it is less work.

For quick trips you may have seen this tiktok where I share the small little mesh yarn bag I use for quick getaways –

I always have to cake my yarn to use this type of bag but it’s better than dragging the larger bag above on an airplane.

Let me know what you use for travel and those long projects to keep everything tidy.
