My Christmas tree is non-traditional – my favorite kind. It’s tall (I think 9.5 feet), skinny, and black metallic. It’s decorated with bright pink and turquoise ornaments, birds, bells, and owls. I’ve been having a hard time finding a skirt that matches my vibe, so I decided to make a crochet Christmas Tree Skirt to my liking.
On my crochet ornament Christmas Tree I found a pattern I really loved, but for this skirt, I wanted it to be less textured, so no granny stitching, so I busied myself with multiple searches and finally landed on this one.

The Yarnspirations Crochet Christmas Tree Skirt pattern is really easy to follow, it’s just the repeat of two rows, if you can half-double and double crochet, you can finish this project.
I opted not to do all of the colorful stripings, I wanted a solid color – I also didn’t do a full 40 rows because my tree is small and also right in a walkway and I wanted to avoid a tripping hazard.
I also used my favorite pom makers – there are many ways to make a yarn pom but pom makers make it a whole lot simpler. Just be sure to use some very good scissors so you don’t have a frayed mess on your hands.
Because you add stitches with each row, this pattern can take a bit of time to complete. My final rows were over 300 stitches each, so the rows can take a little time to add up. Since it’s repetitive and no counting is required after the first couple of rows, it’s an easy pattern to work while you binge Gilmore Girls for the fourth time.
