In June I started thinking about creating an entire Christmas tree of crochet Christmas ornaments. There were tons of cute ornament patterns I wanted to try but I didn’t want to compromise the theme I have for my main family tree and I also didn’t want to subject my husband to crochet ornaments everywhere in the living room (even though he fully supports my crochet addiction.
I found a 6.5-foot white Christmas Tree online at Walmart over the summer and snagged it with this idea in mind.
Here are the ornaments on my Crochet Christmas Ornament Tree.
Crochet Penguin Ornament
Gosh if he isn’t my favorite little guy. Took me right at an hour and 15 minutes which surprised me.

Crochet Christmas Bauble Ornament
I had to really adapt this pattern to fit my bauble (we always called the bulbs so bauble is…) I used a 3.5mm hook and half double crochets. It was completely trial and error as I tried so many ornament patterns with the same result – the finished result was too big, saggy, sad. So try various yarn weights and go down many hook sizes if needed.

Crochet Owl Ornament
I could see making a lot of this little guy and stringing them together for Christmas, Halloween or Thanksgiving…or summer. So many uses. I want to make a rainbow set of crochet owls to give as gifts. If only time would allow it.

Popsicle Tree Ornament
I found an adorable pattern that uses popsicle sticks – I love taking patterns and adapting them to my own needs or creativity, which is what I’ve done here – I made one set of all the pieces and glued it to an actual popsicle stick.

Crochet Stocking Ornament
Who doesn’t love little crochet stockings!!!!? I made a plain color for my ornament but you could stripe this like the pattern designer and it’d be super cute. I also thought about adding fur yarn to the top.

Crochet Snowman Cocoa Mug Ornament
This little guy is precious and I think outside of the other options the pattern creator listed a rudolph mug would be super cute. My daughter liked it so much she asked me to make her one – which is a real compliment for a momma.

Crochet Chain Garland
This crochet garland is quite possibly what makes the tree pop. I made it of all different colors but you could make it with your color theme of choice and it will be beautiful. You could also vary the stitches to create something a little more textured if you desire (like a bobble stitch).

This is an easy one to just make while you’re watching tv, you just have to make a lot of little crochet strips to cover a 6-foot tree

Crochet Granny Tree Ornament
There’s no pattern for this one – I just made two granny triangles and added a stump and stuffed it.

Crochet Pickle Ornament
We hide a pickle ornament on the tree and have done so since the kids were tiny so this seemed fitting. I used the wrong hook so we have an enormous pickle ornament for our Christmas Tree.

Crochet Bell Ornament
I made several of these as fill-ins since they are so quick and easy to make. They made great filler in areas that needed a little more attention.

Crochet Gingerbread House Ornament

This ornament is adorable – I made mine smaller and left it simple because it didn’t need much to know what it was.
Crochet Star Ornament
I also made several of these, mostly because the actual pattern is so fun and they also come together quite quickly and can be made in multple colors in one star if you wanted to add a little something funky to it.

Crochet Poinsettia Ornament
I could have tried harder with this one but it was among the last ornament to come into creation and I was tired. I will likely make a few more of these in various fun non-christmas colors for this tree.

Crochet Bow

I looked at a lot of bow patterns online before deciding that they were more complicated than they needed to be, so I made my own. I shared the easy crochet bow pattern with you here.
Pom Pom Christmas Tree Topper

I’m still deciding whether to keep this one or go with a crochet star – this one is funky and I like funky, but I’m still not sure about it.
